Chateau Batailley Pauillac On the nose, this 2005 Chateau Batailley Grand Cru Classe is clean, pronounced and black fruit-led. As we may expect from a “left bank” wine that is 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, it is the characteristics of this grape that lead. Black cherry and ripe plum along with a restrained note of blackcurrant form the bulk of the bouquet of this lovely Pauillac, although subtle oak notes of cedar and toast are also present and well integrated. Good, long finish.
